CCTV and IP Camera Systems
Hikvision and Dahua systems designed around identification rather than coverage. A camera that shows somebody was there is worth far less than one that shows who. Recorder sizing is worked back from how long you are obliged to keep footage.
Access Control and Biometrics
Readers, controllers and biometric terminals on ZKTeco and Hikvision hardware. Door hardware, power supply and fail-safe behaviour specified as part of the same drawing, because a door that locks people in during a fire is not a security system.
Access Cards and Card Printers
Card stock, encoding and on-site printing, so issuing a card to a new starter is something reception does in five minutes rather than something that waits on a supplier.
Alarm and Perimeter Systems
Detection at the boundary rather than at the door, integrated with the camera system so an alarm brings up the relevant footage instead of a zone number somebody has to look up.
Remote Monitoring and Playback
Live view and playback from wherever you are, with bandwidth and retention planned so remote access does not quietly consume the site connection during business hours.
Maintenance and Service Contracts
Lenses cleaned, firmware current, recordings verified against the schedule. A camera system nobody checks is a camera system that was not recording on the day it mattered.
